*SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS *

Documents patient information, presents correct information for interpretation, and performs other non-clinical duties to support procedure completion.

Performs all aspects of radiopharmaceutical preparation for scintigraphic, bioassay, and therapeutic procedures and disposes of radioactive trash according to department policy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission standards.

Performs imaging and therapeutic procedures according to requirements.**If a RN is not available, certified technologists may have access to the emergency medications at the direction of the attending physician.

Performs non-clinical activities pertinent to equipment maintenance and NRC regulations for Quality Control and radiation monitoring.

Efficiently & consistently operates Meditech Information System, PACS, EMAR, and Unit Dose Manager.

Maintains appropriate supplies and a clean and organized working environment.

Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of Nuclear Medicine.

Takes call after regular hours.

EXPERIENCE Required Experience in Nuclear Medicine. (May include experience in formal NM training program) Preferred Three years experience in hospital Nuclear Medicine department.
